Flexibility

Job Flexibility 

Sections 14 to 16 of the ELRA provide for the framework of what is to be constituted in an employment contract requiring  a job description to be indicated in the statement of particulars or in the contract of employment.  Clauses can be included to allow for additional flexibility, such as, by stating that the employee consents to carry out additional duties or work that is different from that specified in the job description as he or she may be directed by management.

Place of Work Flexibility

Section 15 of the ELRA requires the place of work to be indicated in the statement of particulars or in the contract of employment. This may include stating whether the employee is willing to work anywhere within Tanzania, the willingness of the employee to travel for work, workplace flexibility, that is the willingness of the employee to work anywhere even in remote areas.

Reporting Line Flexibility 

There are no requirements vis-à-vis reporting line flexibility.
